Wed, 08 Feb 2012 19:22:50There has been a great deal of talk about Planned Parenthood recently. Although I'm not making this video as a pro-life or a pro-choice stance, I can't help but wonder how many people know the real history of Planned Parenthood. The first clinic was opened by Margaret Sanger in 1916 with a reported purpose of providing birth control services. While this sounds like an honorable goal to the pro-choice voters, there has been little discussion regarding the reasons that Ms. Sanger felt the need to get involved with birth control services in the first place. I think you'll be surprised by the real history of planned parenthood. Be sure to tune into the show this week for more on this, and all the latest political news. The Don Smith Show is a one hour show, every Saturday morning at 10:00am EST. You can always catch the archived show at your convenience by visiting www.donsmithshow.com. |

Sanger, schooled as a nurse, became a vocal proponent of educating women on the concepts of contraception after watching a woman die of a self-inflicted abortion in 1912. Margaret Sanger founded the American Birth Control League in 1921, a predecessor to Planned Parenthood. Jean Baker speaks at the Tenement Museum in New York City. |

Thu, 05 Jan 2012 01:27:15Cherie Driggs explains that Pro-Lifers need to focus on exposing Planned Parenthood's agenda to the public, more so than their history, including how racist their founder, Margaret Sanger, was. She goes on to explain that there are many people who do not care about Margaret Sanger's beliefs, because she died decades ago, but they will care about what Planned Parenthood is doing today. This clip is from the April 2002 edition of LifeTalk. For more information, or to subscribe, please visit www.ProLifeAmerica.com. |
